is that good for the price?
$175 -
You are better off with this (the link cori posted above)

You get 4GB for $244, instead of 2GB for $174. -
yea but vista 2 bit only recognises 3GB
-
i would upgrade to 64 bit to utilize Dual-data rate.
-
Any 32 Bit OS can only recognize 3.2GB of memory because of the limits of the memory addressing. Any 64 Bit OS can support 128GB of RAM. Upgrading to 64 Bit Vista will alleviate this problem.

Only problem is upgrading to 64-bit you would be causing a bunch more problems =P. Later this year and early next year 64-bit will hit its stride and prices will dip a little for those sticks. I think you are better off waiting for that =). But if Vista 64 is what you need, go for it!

I found 2GB in eWiiz for $105.06:

Dual-Data Rate (DDR if you mean that) has existed before the coming of 64-bit CPUs.Every 32-bit CPU will use that.
If you mean Dual-Channel, again, a 32-bit CPU can do it. -
$105 for a 2GB stick is a very good deal. I would just go with that.

How much of a performance hit when the ram sticks don't match? Don't you lose dual channel?
-
this is the link for the 2x2GB deal posted earlier on : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=121363
if you read the warning it actually says
"Note: Most of the current notebooks (with mobile Intel 945 chipsets) would only be able to see total: 3gigs [at low level, which would not matter which OS you choose]. Newer notebooks [such as the Santa Rosa, Intel 965 chipsets] should see the 4 gigs fine [as long as you are using Vista and/or 64-bit OS]." -
almost none.
dual channel does not even make a blip of difference, not 1% or a significant fration thereof. -
something wrong wiith CPU-Z? -
I'm making the assumption that the sticks have to be identical for dual channel. Perhaps I'm wrong?
2gb of ram (1 stick)
