I just got an Asus G73sw-XT1, Win 7 64bit. I plugged my hdd from my old computer (500GB WD) and I can not access it. I can see the drive through disk management and I can boot from it using the boot menu. The drive is formatted with ext3 and ext4 partitions for Linux (openSuse). I know that Windows doesn't natively read these file systems, but shouldn't the drive should come up in "My Computer" to give the option of formatting?
    Thanks

Well, if you want to format it, you can try:
Right-click (My) Computer, click Manage, go to Disk Management.
You should be able to delete the old partitions and create empty ones which Windows can format and read. (note: data in those partitions will be deleted)

No because Windows does't recognize it. As the post above stated, you will need to go into disk management and format it for Windows.

    Cheers,
