Thought we'd get a database going here to compare our systems to those of others with the same model. If you'd like, state the model of your computer, your 3DMark settings, and your score.

    Asus G1S running XP
    3DMark 06 default settings
    4007 3DMarks

Also, is this a good score? The last one I saw was 3800 something so I thought this was pretty good. I am running the newest driver build from nVidia through laptopvideo2go so that might have something to do with it. It's 165.something

What's the average CPU Score? I noticed the CPU tests were alot choppier (Read ALOT) but I think I got the average 1800 something that I've seen in all the 3Dmark scores.

Remember 3dmark06 requires 1280x1024 to give a official and comparable score. If your screen can not do that resolution your scores are not reflected correctly.

For that reason 3dmark05 may be a better test to compare various systems as it uses a lower resolution that many more people's computers are capable of displaying.

Imations, what mods etc do you have running to be getting 7-800 higher than the other highest scores? Are you overclocked? I'm running the 165 drivers even though I can't put the computer to sleep with them... (400 points is 400 points, I can just shutdown for that... Until they come up with a patch.

Kinda surprised no one mentioned this yet, the 8600GT in the G1s is GDDR3 which is why it's much faster, since its clocked at 700mhz, compared to all the other 8600GTs which us DDR2 and clocked at 400mhz~.

Looks like the overclocking makes quite a difference. I'm assuming thats only overclocking the GPU? which i perceive to be the bottleneck.

Yep, Vicious is right. Those not running 06 with 1280x1024 need not apply as their scores are simply not compareable.

Those of us with C90's will have our purchases validated if ever an 8800 series mobile MXM part is released. Then we'll dominate 3DMark 06. But not yet.

That is IF the 8800 is built for a mobile chipset, and IF it is MxM II.
If they make an MxM 8800 but it is MxM III or IV it will be worthless to a C90s owner. :frown:

Im pretty confident there is a card out now thats MXMII that will beat the G1S scores. The HD 2600XT should be faster.

Its a smaller die processing and hopefully is uses GDDR3 for the memory, also the entire hardware design of the 2600 is more powerfull than the nvidia card if it has proper drivers.

It's a rather negligeable boost for those already with 8600m GT's though. Unless it can score in the 7-8000 3DMark 06 points. And as such, if it be only be a small performance bosot at the $200-300 that i will likely cost, it is useful for no one but new C90S owners, which rather makes it a bit pointless. We're looking for something down the line, next year, that will give us a significant graphics boost, like an 8800m, for the $300-$400 that it will then cost.

swoley will have the lead for c90 by far. He hit over 4200 on one of his runs. Benchmark only settings I would never run what he had as an everyday overclock. I think it was 550/550 with the newer high performance drivers, and he had to modify the gpu bios for the overclock.

    3dmarks06 result: 3890
    Screen Resolution: 1280x1024
    G1S A1 with 3GB Ram
    NVIDIA Driver: 162.22
    No overclocking

Question: I guess the score is quite standard with G1S, but my screen resolution is not good under 1280x1024 (the circle become ellipse :D ) so i bring it back to 1680x1050 (circle looks like real circle), Whats your screen resolution and what's your color setting used?

The only good about Sony SZ is the screen and if you guys compare to G1S screen SZ is more perfect screen. Maybe somebody try to change the default of color setting (or gamma setting) that improve G1s screen.

    Thanks

For the test you need to run that res to get the same results, having it stretched looking doesn't change the 3DMark scores. When playing in game, just pick any widescreen resolution you think looks/plays best. I usually get the highest resolution I can get with high settings and mid AA/AF. So far I've been able to max every game I have :D
