Also whats better using the asus stock install cd's ?? or use my own copy of win xp pro cause after installing the laptop with the asus cd's i have like 63 active programs thats nutts.

Also whats up with theese sucky software/Driver updates i cant update anything wurth ****. When i update my lan with the intel software i get a crit error with something of the keyboard software from asus or something.

What GPU is in the W2v? If its the X700/6600 then thats a normal score.

It's a 128mb X700...... if you want better drivers that'll let you overclock -- or really even normal clock (as asus typically underclocks they notebook gpus for a better balance of battery life) - then download the omega drivers and omegadrivers.org

Its not underclocked if you see those scores. If you use an aftermarket driver aside from the one included on the cd then those are slightly overclocked. Use them at your own risk. There never has been a decisive test that said they were 100% safe

Asus is actually known to put less **** on their notebook than anyone else. really most things are just drivers and a couple services. how much ram are those processes taking up at startup? And no you cannot put a new video card in a laptop. I always hear they were supposed to come out with upgradable ones but really havent come to market. even if you could you cant really find the video cards themselves and they would be like 300-400 for the card.

thats alot i have mce and it uses like 330 megs but doesnt bother me much since i have 2 gigs. but i shut down alot the processes in msconfig. you can get rid of whatever if taking that memory up just shut down the services a reinstalls isnt needed.
