I just tested my computer (W3J+) out with 3dMark06, and got 2181 with mobil e catalyst 6.7 and 2080 with Omega drivers. Anyone else willing to share their scores?
-
That's about right, the MacBook scores a 1,528 and it's already underclocked heavily.
-
did you mean Macbook Pro? becaus the Macbook has integrated graphics....
-
Yea, I meant the Pro
The W3j has a review out already, try 3DMark05 instead, not many people use 06' -
Looks about right for x1600 in W3J... my Go7600 is 2365 with stock nvidia drivers....
But I think the W3J gets higher marks in 3dMark05 though... have you tried 05? -
workin on downloading it now... but its a slow as hell download. Know of anywhere i could get it quickly besides BT which eats my bandwidth

Try:
3DMark05 / 3DMark06 (free versions) – This is a large download but worth it if you have a dedicated graphics card notebook. Download 3DMark05: http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark05.shtml (283MB), or try 3DMark06: http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark06.shtml (580MB) if you don't mind the larger download size of 3DMark06 -
i was looking for mirrors, but its ok ive got it downloaded now
-
4206 was my score on 3dMark05 with Mobility Catalyst 6.7 drivers.... you cant over clock with these right, only with omegas?
-
4200 is a very good score for w3j on 3dmark05. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
-
I got the following:
3868 3dmark05
1731 3dmark06
I'm going to install the omega drivers later on today and will post the new numbers when I get them. -
is that using 6.7 yukon or stock drivers?
-
Stock drivers on mine currently downloading the 6.7 going to try the 3d mark on the 6.7 prior to installing the omega drivers

Update to my previous post to my surprise I couldn't install the catalyst 6.7 drivers. I called up powernotebooks.com and was informed that Asus is not supported by ATI! Werid when you think it's the same card. So I went ahead and installed the omega drivers and the difference was minimal I got 3872 on 3dmark05 and I haven't ran the 3dmark06 test yet, but I will update as soon as I get it.

Thanks but are they worth it? By that I mean is it worth uninstalling omega and installing the catalyst drivers? From what I have read they are all pretty much the same.
-
The performance is pretty much the same, just realize that the latest omegas are based on the 6.5's where as they are up to 6.7 direct from ati. One common thought is don't upgrade your drivers unless the new drivers have noticeable performance improvements or fix compatibility issues in games you play. Otherwise don't try to fix what 'aint broke!
3dMark06 Scores.... are mine too low?
