I just tested my computer (W3J+) out with 3dMark06, and got 2181 with mobil e catalyst 6.7 and 2080 with Omega drivers. Anyone else willing to share their scores?

That's about right, the MacBook scores a 1,528 and it's already underclocked heavily.

Yea, I meant the Pro :p

The W3j has a review out already, try 3DMark05 instead, not many people use 06' :p

Looks about right for x1600 in W3J... my Go7600 is 2365 with stock nvidia drivers....

But I think the W3J gets higher marks in 3dMark05 though... have you tried 05?

4200 is a very good score for w3j on 3dmark05. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

    I got the following:

    1731 3dmark06

I'm going to install the omega drivers later on today and will post the new numbers when I get them.

Yes you can overclock with the mobility cat 6.7. You just need to download and use ati tool to do it.

Update to my previous post to my surprise I couldn't install the catalyst 6.7 drivers. I called up powernotebooks.com and was informed that Asus is not supported by ATI! Werid when you think it's the same card. So I went ahead and installed the omega drivers and the difference was minimal I got 3872 on 3dmark05 and I haven't ran the 3dmark06 test yet, but I will update as soon as I get it.

Did you try to install the drivers from here? If you go through the ATI page they won't work, but if you go directly to the download link it should work fine.

Thanks but are they worth it? By that I mean is it worth uninstalling omega and installing the catalyst drivers? From what I have read they are all pretty much the same.

The performance is pretty much the same, just realize that the latest omegas are based on the 6.5's where as they are up to 6.7 direct from ati. One common thought is don't upgrade your drivers unless the new drivers have noticeable performance improvements or fix compatibility issues in games you play. Otherwise don't try to fix what 'aint broke!
