    The chipset itself should be able to handle 4GB of RAM, however, there is a 2GB limit per slot. Since one slot has soldered in RAM, the notebook can only support 2.5GB of RAM.

    Thanks for the response. I'm pretty sure xp will run fine with 2.5gb but what about vista?
