I would suggest having a look at the Info Booth at the top of this forum. It will contain among others:
- ASUS Utility and Bloatware guide by David
- ASUS Vista optimization guide by myself (I assume the netbook comes with Win7 and some of the optimization steps would also apply to it, I hope)
- Generic RAM upgrade guide by coriolis
along with many other helpful threads. -
The Point of this thread was to put everything in one place xD. I thought that adding ram would void warranty of asus 1201n??
And what about BIOS Updating?
Flash player 10.1? and some other stuff like 1080p players (I am not sure what I am talking about)?

Feel free to add guides customized for the 1201N to this thread.
I did not mean to "hijack" the thread with those links, just to provide potentially useful information, at least as a stopgap until specific information about this model is added. I can delete that post (and this subsequent discussion) if need be, later on, as more pertinent information is added.
WRT adding RAM, it was you who mentioned it in the first post so I just followed up on thatNote that adding RAM only voids the warranty under the following conditions:
a) requires breaking the "warranty void" seal on the heatsink -- only in models that are very tough to disassemble, which do include some clamshell design netbooks (not sure what design the 1201N is).
OR
b) it is the added RAM that causes faults with the notebook.
WRT BIOS update, yeah, I have a guide on how to do that too -- and it's linked form the Info Booth. The guide is for notebooks, but I expect the procedure is at least similar for netbooks. -
I love my 1201n, but it runs very hot, especially over 1.85GHz. I attempted to disassemble it in order to apply my own thermal paste, but could not for the life of me separate the system. Anybody successfully been able to open the system up without breaking it?
