Its time to order that 2nd gb for me.
Im ordering from newegg.com unless someone takes the time to tell me a another place is a lot cheaper.
Most ddr2 667 ram is 5300. Some is 5400. At newegg the main brand that is 5400 is ocz.
Someone told me that if my computer has 1 stick of 5400 that if I put in 5300 it would not work in ddr2.
And they also said that if my computer has 5300, that putting in 5400 it WOULD work in ddr2.
Is this true? Because 5400 is not any more expensive and I dont know the ram in the a8js yet unless one of you would like to tell me.
It seems I should go for the 5400 what do you guys think?

I added in a 1GB PC2-5300 (DDR2-667) Corsair RAM stick and I haven't noticed any problems.
-
I have both the stock 5300 and the ocz 5400 and they work perfectly in dual channel. AFAIK the 5300 and the 5400 are different notations that manufacturers use for the one and same ram.
-
ya i understand now thanks.
-
I'm not sure if 5400 and 5300 will work together perfectly. But my A8js bought from btotech has 5300 RAM, so probably I will go for a 1G DDR 667, 5300 RAM~

CPU-Z will check which type of RAM you have.
-
they are aparently the exact same thing
only a few manufacturers call it 5400. its the exact same thing the ram goes at a speed something like 5336 apx and most call it 5300 and some call it 5400.
thanks for the utility though
5300 ram or 5400 ram in the a8js?
