One shipment arrived today and some more should be coming at the end of the week. They are still very limited, but as long as they are listed on our site, it means they're still in stock to customize with.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Those are still a month away... they'll be coming in pata and sata forms. Hitachi's product manager said they are trying to get out a 120mb 7200rpm sata.... to keep one up on seagate who's 120gb will only be 5400 while they are going to have 80 and 100gb 7200rpm..... they are expected before mid july.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Does this mean there will likely be 60 gig 7200 rpm drives in stock at other resellers? Or is ProPortable just special? [ :)]

I can't read anyone's minds and I'm not a product manager for Hitachi........ Hitachi's shipment didn't come into the US, we were just able to secure some more drives.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Thanks Justin for trying to keep us updated on the SATA drives. Question, will these drives be able to be configured into the Z63a or the Z70v? Thanks

The pata 60gb/7200rpm drives which we got some supply of will be able to be used in the Z70v and Z33a....... I wouldn't really suggest a 7200rpm drive in the Z33a because it'll get pretty hot and the battery life with the standard 3 cell will be even more pathetic... but awesome power if you're going to be plugged in a lot or have the 9 cell battery.

Both of those systems don't take sata drives.

    Thanks,
    Justin
