If you think about it logically, Even though Nvidia traditionally releases its next GPU series in November, The mobile GPU's rarely make it out until at least 6 months later. Nvidia also seems to be taking things kinda slow, usually they would have released the 8900 by now, the 7900 was out within 6 months of release of the 7800.

I am also waiting since summer for F8s as its the only (yet not released though) 14' laptop with decent gaiming capabilities.

Do ya know how much would be an extra battery? Cuz it looks like standard 6cell will not last longer than 2h.

If I'm not mistaken, the Australian V2S with 8600GT was discussed some time ago, and someone checked with ASUS or with the stores and found out that the video card was actually 8600GS, the specification was mistyped. Please CMIIW.

That may be a possibility, seems unlikey though as I got 15 matches for V2s, All show the 8600GT, none with the GS

I don't get why you would even think Aussie V2S' are any different.

Asus is a Taiwanese company -- if there would be any different models of V2S made, I'm pretty sure they would appear in Taiwan first and possibly only in Taiwan.

There's no reason why Asus would offer Aussie retailers a special specced V2S. In Taiwan, maybe, but definitely not outside of Taiwan. But once they release outside of Taiwan, it's just dumb to not release it to North America.

Hahutzy: Because each region usually has different specs? In Aus the V1s only comes with a 2.0ghz CPU and vista business, in the USA you can only get it with 2.4ghz and Vista ultimate, manufacturers do this all the time, with almost every model. And Asus, like other manufacturers tail their models to the markets they think will sell in, IE in Europe many models come with matte screens while in the US they come with glossy, In asia fewer laptops have dedicated GPU's, in the USA and Europe they tend to put in beefier GPU's.

Yeah it's a typo, V2S has global GPU (8600M GS) spec.
