So I am thinking about getting the G51j and I need more battery life than the standard 6 cell can provide. Does anyone have any experience with the 9 cell battery? Any ideas how much more battery life can be expected?

well honestly speaking...if you are getting the G51J then your concern in a laptop was never battery life. However, if you are concerned my guess is it will increase by 50%. Current notebook life from my readings is under 2, but correct me if i'm wrong. I'd invest the money in something else or a second battery.

1h 40 on a light load (browsing etc.). even with a 9-cell, i wouldn't expect more than a little over 2h 10 or so. if you need battery life, i7 + gtx260 is not the way to go.

basically you're adding 3 more cells so if your laptop lasts you 2 hours with a 6 cell expect 3 hours from a 9 cell.

It might be an improvement if you decrease screen refresh rate to 60 Hz.
Because if I'm not mistaken it uses 100 Hz screen refresh rate setting.
