Just need some more info before I make a purchase (might be Asus M50-B1, 2.5ghz, 9500M GS).
(1) Your specs
a. Company of Heroes DX.9/10 (just tell what DX code is running, resolution, AA, AF)
b. The Orange Box -resolution, AA, AF (I haven't even started EP.1 yet, EP2 (never played it, too busy), TF2) I've almost beat portal though
![]()
c. Call of Duty 4 -resolution, AA, AF
d. Oblivion (own it, haven't played it much)
I've played Crysis on my desktop (X1950GT-256bit 4300 3dmarks, 4900 OC'D) @ all high, couple mediums in dx.9, I didn't like the gameplay that much, so its not a selling point for me.
I should be leaving for College in less than a month, leaving the Desktop behind.

For the 9500M GS, you just check at the 8600M GTs benchmarks, they are the same cards, the GPU is a bit smaller, but it's the exact same chip.

u will get more answers if u post in the how will it run topic in the gaming section
-
That 2.5ghz processor should make a difference over the initial 8600M Gt users (slower cpu's), correct?
-
CPUs don't make much of a difference. Lower CPUs, such as the T7500 were already bottlenecked by the 8600M GT
-
I have the M50VM-A1 and with vertical sync on it pretty much gets 60 fps constant in TF2 and CSS at 1440 with 2x AA and 4x AF, everything else is at high.

On a 9500m GS (580/1200/460)
Half Life 2/Portal
Max Details 1600x900, 2x or 4x AA (I forget), 4x AF, VSync On
60 FPS (briefly drops to 45 sometimes)
TF2
Max Details 1600x900, 2x or 4x AA (I forget), 4x AF, VSync On
45-60 FPS -
I get framerates as smooth as my buddies ps3 on GRID, at 1440x900 with 2xaa and vsync on...with current overclock...this really isn't a bad card at all...and it does better on benchmarks then the 8600gt by like 1-200 points...check notebookcheck.com

Have anyone of you had any luck on overclocking the 9600M GS? Rivatuner doesn't seem to overclock it.

The drivers are already updated, still no luck. 177.79.
-
are you plugged in?
