9600gt works in C90, now what about HD3650?

So perusing around the interwebs lately, I found

    this

And then I went looking around for MXM video cards and realized that the 3650 units are MXM II. While that alone might not be impressive what is impressive is that the main units I'm seeing are DDR3 units. SOme have 256mb and a few have 512mb. So I was wondering if there is a chance of some kind that it might work? The holes for heatsinks seem to match up so no extensive mods *should* be needed. I even recall us going over the leaked pictures of the board and noting its die to be almost identical to an 8600gt.

So my question is if I were to buy one and put it in when my 8600gt dies (not if, when...) and barring any physical mods needed should I be able to just download some new drivers and get gaming or is there something more technical needed on the drivers side of things?

Okay, first off you will HAVE to either make a new heatspreader like I did or do some serious modding of the stock heatspreader. The memory chips on all the 3650s I have seen so far are placed VERTICALLY as opposed to the original 8600M which has the the memory chips place HORIZONTALLY. So you will have to do some modding no matter what.

As for if it will work, yes it absolutely should. It's now a fact that the C90S does NOT block other manufacturers MXM-II modules! As long as the card is MXM-II and the VGA bios is also not locked to a specific model of laptop you will be able to upgrade. You might run into some difficulties with drivers or clock speeds, but those can be worked out.

Keep in mind though, it's very important you buy an MXM-II card that has an "unlocked" bios on it! I have heard the 256MB DDR3 3650's on eBay have an HP bios and were causing some people issues. However, I do believe they should work.

    Edit:

By the way here's a picture of a 512MB DDR3 3650. Look at the memory chips:

Hmmm...I will keep that in mind. So far the only 512mb one I've sen was on some MXM video card only store for 300 euros so yeah that's kind of a lot compared to the <$200 256mb units on ebay. I will keep that in mind though, i believe one supplier said his were for compal units so that might be my best chance when I decide to do this.

I also had a bit of inspiration - could a heatsink from another Asus model that uses the 9600/9700 work in the C90? or at least work with drilling new holes in it?
