Hi, i overclocked my 9800M GS to 1465,570,800 and ran serveral 3dmak06 tests without any probs + flickering. But now when i play longer i get soem flickering.. but the temps aren“t higher than 83C. So is this very bad for the gfx card? If yes, which should i lower ? Clock or Shader?

    THanks

Try updating the GPU drivers first to see if that helps.

Maybe you might want to try rolling back to original factory drivers and see if the problem persists.
If it does you will have to lower some OC settings.
    What laptop is it?

9800 GS = G50Vt i assume. can you describe the flickering a bit more?

Definitely take your GPU memory speeds down a notch. These flicking are most likely artifacts which is caused by the memory being overclocked too high. If you're getting "snow", then back up on the core speeds too.

well from time to time i get little white or black lines just poping up on my screen for some milliseconds. I dont get it with 3dmark06 tests so i thought my speeds would be fine.

Memory speed down? 800 is standart? so i guess i should take down the core speed a bit.. hmm sad as most ppl have 600 there and i cant even run 570 :(

Do you use ati tools? Very useful little app that can test your OC visually. If you see artifacts then back down if the artifacts are too small to notice all the time it will make a noise to tell you.

the people with 600 used nvflash+NiBiToR to change the voltage to 1.1, which is why they can reach higher core/shader clocks. search for the 9800 GS -> GTS flash thread.

    ye ... RLY ? :DD
    i flashed mine ofc

1.1V + oc as above. Now i get flickering.. so i should lower the core speed? could i increase the shader then or will this again give me some flickering ?
