    Hello people!

Here I am again with a sort of downclocking issue. This issue is very different than the usual downclocking people experience with cards like 8600M GT, 9500M GS etc etc, because this one seems to mostly affect 1) when in DX9 and 2) only the memory speeds--- and a third thing I noticed-- It can go away sometimes just by alt-tabbing and I get back to full speed, whereas the usual downclocking issue required reboot.

I have noticed this mainly in crysis, where my clocks rated at 600-1500-800 become 600-1500-300 just as the gameplay begins. GPUz reports it to be 800mhz, but the frames per second and riva tuner say otherwise.

Other games that sometimes get this are Dead Space and Mirrors Edge. Dead space is not noticeable because the game, even on 300mhz memory, runs near 60fps (and usually near 100... lol)

This issue is EASILY solved forever if I choose to disable powermizer, but if I do so, I end up with a very hot PC-- whereas my usual temps are between 40and 50 for GPU, without power mizer im stuck at 68C or so the lowest, and it results in an overall hotter machine.

Any Ideas of what might be happening and how to solve it without killing off powermizer?

I've run into this issue on-and-off as well.

We must find a solution! I believe it is due to drivers-- due to all the settings regarding "battery saving" "Performance" and "high performance" or something. Because this issue simply does not happen when we disable powermizer.

I hope more experienced users can help us find a solution!

Try to change your drivers. I know you all like the Dox ones, but I have been using the official nvidia notebook drivers and it has been great. No problems with sleep or anything, they downclock and speed up correct and the preformance is very close to the dox.

Dox does modify some thing to help preformance but in the end their is a reason nvidia made notebook drivers sperate and is not just making an all in one driver. While they have the all in one for desktops in a way their is much diffrent with the notebook stuff. Just because something works with another one does not mean its right still :)

I actually haven't had a problem since I installed the DOX 182.46 drivers. It happened when I used the DOX 182.05 drivers.

I have had the issue with other drivers but indeed I shall try another set with full clean. Its a very weird problem but it sure sucks when you want to enjoy a game and it runs lower than it should.
