I only hear that the 4 GB will be recognized by Vista64. However, from my experience with desktops, it should also work with Windows XP 64 as well? I have a copy of Windows XP for my 64 bit processor and I would like 4 GB of RAM. My question is will it work? Thanks.

Yes it will, Its not a matter of XP not registering more than 3.5gb, Its purely the fact thats its 64 bit. So any 64bit OS will work, Keep in mind though that 64 bit drivers are fairly few and far between.

You present a very good point matt. Seems like I am going to have to stick with x86 builds of OSs.

If you go with vista 64, the drivers are already on the driver cd that came with the computer.

I'm running vista 64 and my only big problems are not being able to run magic iso, and far cry crashing when I get to a certain point in the game, which may or may not be vista 64.

Edit: I've had absolutely no stability problems with vista 64. It's handled everything I've thrown at it great.

I used beta 2 and RC2 x64, everything was working great. Deamontool has even his own x64 release.

It's too bad magic iso does not work but I use poweriso with a pirated key

The G1S isnt offered with a 64bit OS, And if you take a look on the Asus website you will see they do not provide 64bit drivers for the notebooks hardware. Given the G1s has alot of Asus only drivers like the ones for the lights you will have problems. Please make sure you read all of a post before posting silly things like

I'm using all drivers without any problems with vista x64. There are 64 and 32 bit versions of applications on the cd, but the 32bit only versions work in 64 as well.
