    Hi, I'm doing some analysis on the G51's cooling and I need another laptop as reference.

    So, I'm asking a G50 owner here whose laptop doesn't run abnormally hot. Can you just run GPU-Z, go to sensors, check log to file and keep refreshing, and then go play a graphically intensive game for about an hour or two.

    Afterwards, can you send me an email with that log attached? I'll PM you my email.

    Thanks!

    Well, I really need the log file from GPU-Z since that records the temperature at every second.

    Oh, and if someone does do the log file, could they refrain from using a laptop cooler for one session since that would be injecting an unknown variable into my findings.

    I idle at 51 usually just playing music and web browsing as far the GPU.

    Now my laptop sits on a book and is not raised or anything for airflow so after playing L4D at max settings for say an hour the time peaks usually around 84-86 and never any higher than that.

    How about we try something more resource intensive than L4D?

    Whoever does it might want to try something like Crysis or Far Cry 2; preferably nothing already ported to/from a console, seeing as how games made for both consoles and PCs don't stress a good PC all that much. Make sure you take note of whether you're running in DX10 or DX9.

    Tevash, what about his OC'd 9800GS?

    That's an extra variable <_<

    The data that I need for my analysis aren't affected by any OC in any meaningful way.

    @Reaper

    Your previous data was great so there is no need to send me more log files.

    I unluckily accidentally messed up the data I collected from my G51 but I will get them tonight and I may have my analysis up by tonight too or tomorrow morning.

    Can't wait. If your 260M isn't smoking with those overclocks, I might do some overclocking.
