Just got my C90s and would just like to know how to solve or do a couple of things!
Specs:
CPU - E6700
GPU - 512MB 5600M GT DDR2
RAM - 3GB
HD - 200GB 7200RPM
OS - Vista Premium 32bit
1. Is there a way to make Turbo Gear stable?! I can't seem to access it! It always crashes when I activate it!
2. Since i'm the second owner of this thing, I would like to restore it to its factory settings! How can I restore it to that?! (Sorry, my last notebook was a Compaq EvoN1000v)
3. What's a good driver for the GPU and what is a good tool to overclock it?! I've tried RivaTuner and put my clocks at 580/1100/530 but when I check my N Tune stats, the highest it goes to is at 533/499 while running 3DMark06 and just got a score of around 3200!
Please help me out! Your help is much appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

3000 is the stock score pretty much so 3200 is an improvement. 580/530 is somewhat unrealistic expectations unless your lucky with a great card and have taken into consideration you may need better cooling.
Infact that could be your turbo gear issue, mine used to crash from heat. However if its crashing instantly thats 90% probability that your ram is not compatible 100%. Try this, take out your 2gb stick of ram and try just your 1gb stick and see if turbo gear works.
Go ahead and make sure you have the new drivers and things from the asus website too.
As for video card drivers laptopvideo2go.com is where you wanna go. I use the 163.01's and love them, there has been no major improvement that I know of since those drivers and they work great for the c90.
As for factor settings... well there may not be anyits a whitebook you customize it yourself so there is no stock components or restore disk that I am aware of unless the reseller made one for it.

Also, is that the only way to know if the RAM isn't compatible?! Because if I go to My Computer, it actually reads that I have 3GBs of RAM! -
I have to say that the ram stability couldnot be the only issue.I Have a C90S sold directly from Asus with 2Gb ram NANYA and C2C 2.4Ghz. I cannot use at all overclocking mode (it crushes just after pressing the button), while is not stable with Gaming option. I mean I can run some test, but if I play for some ours (Rise of Legends, ...) I have blue screen almost 100% of situations...
I have a cooling pad too (TT T1000), it does not help even if it has a 12cm fan (I guess in the wrong place ...)

I have used 4 sets of ram in my laptop so far before I got a set that was 100% compatible and every one of them that had problems was the 2gb sticks.
Just try what I said and report back, the 1gb sticks in general have almost no compatibility issues. -
If your overclocking doesn´t work you have to disable the Intel Speed Stepping in the bios. Save and restart your OS.
Now it should work. -
I tried to put just the Transcend 2GB stick on and went back to the same symptom so now I have the same 3GB sticks back for now!
Any recomendations?! A different overclocking tool perhaps?! Maybe even at a lower frequency?! -

Help anyone?!

not to sound mean, but please don't post useless posts to bump your topic.
now on your issue, I'm having the same issue as you, and there are a couple different things that can result in your problem.
First is your CPU: ViciousXUSMC told me that he downgraded to E6600 and it got rid of his overclocking problems. It could be too much heat stress on the CPU.
and also like ViciousXUSMC said it could be your RAM. if you've tested that and gave you the same results, then I suggest you search some of the other topics for other solutions. -
Anyways, i've been searching around but can't search that long cuz I do alot of things too! But so far, from what i've seen, I haven't seen solutions for my problem and that's why I am still here asking for anyone to give me any help they can! -
Help please?!
-
if you've tried all the solutions so far and none have worked, I guess you're stuck waiting like I am -
You can't OC on the E6700 I believe (not that you need it anyway).
Upgrading to the lastest revision of the motherboard might help (RMAing to Asus ) but not sure. -
First I need to know what wattage your power supply is. Its either 90W or 120W
A couple of C90s questions
