I just notice a small crack at the left corner of the LCD cover. The crack starts right at the silver rim and extends to about 1/2 inch to the white portion (i.e. the side where the LCD screen resides), right above the rubber stud. I do not know what caused the crack, and I do not recall dropping the notebook either. It was just 4 month's old and I think I'm taking pretty good care of it. Maybe my cat chewed on it, who knows?
My question is:
Is there any harm if I use super glue to secure the crack, or should I just leave it as that?

you might want to just buy a new lid for like 30-40 bucks and change it out. if you are good with that stuff that is. superglue might work id personaly use some type of epoxy. the crack may get worse depending how it is. Do you carry it in a bag with lots of heavy books or anything that may have caused it.

Thanks SRD. I carry it in a Booq backpack, usually together with 1 inch plastic file, and a textbook but in a different compartment of the bag. $30-40 is not a big issue for me but I'm really not good at changing-the-lid kind of stuff. I'll probably try superglue first. If the crack gets worse, then I'll consider changing the lid, and inquire for further guidance on that by then.

As its only 4months old it will still be under warranty...thus putting superglue etc may (check this with your dealer) prevent you from replacing it under warranty should it get worse...so I would if your really concerned try and use the warranty and get a new one...if thats a no go then glue away!

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
As I recall, didn't you get this from ProPortable? Have you given them a call to ask about your options?

A crack unless its near a hinge is really not warranty. Its concidered abuse. even if its not its hard to prove.
