    if you dont mind.

I have a few questions. I've had this unit for a short while and here are some things.

    1. Is it normal for the screen to flash black every so often?

    2. You know the bottuns on the RIGHT side of the unit? When you push these a screen pops up on the left side. How come sometimes the screen does not pop up. So its like, im trying to give it a command but it isnt listening.

Especially the volume shortcut sometimes...It works when it wants.

    Is there a reason..?

I have 1 gig of memory in this thing, so its kind of weird that the system lags...like when opening browser windows and using the drop down "menu" on internet exporer, etc. Also it has 80 gig of 7200 rpm for the hard drive..

    Just curious.

I can only respond to the first question about the screen flashing black. I also asked this question a while ago, and the culprit turned out to be the GPU automatically decreasing its clock speed at low battery levels. If you go into the ATI settings, you'll see a setting for the battery percentage at which to be begin underclocking to save battery life. Whatever percentage that's set at is one percent above the point at which the screen will flash. Next time the screen flashes, check the battery level and it should be one lower than whatever is set in the ATI settings.

about question 2, it's just windows software being a little buggy. the notices in the top left are supposed to be "always on top" of all the other windows/applications, but windows gets confused every once in a while. If you can't see it, just click Show Desktop or press "windows +d" and try again.

Would not being able to see it still be the case if the buttons arent following the command?

Like i will try to turn down the volume and the window doesnt show and the volume isnt going down.

other times there is just a delay to where i cant see the picture but i will still try to change the volume then moments later the picture appears and the volume is moving "by itself"...major delay

I thought with 1 gig of ram all of my delay problems would be gone. because even when i try to open 2 browser windows at once sometimes it lags- could it just be the particular site i am going to?
