I'm going to buy a G2SG-A1, I'm in the States right now but I'm going to move to Switzerland on September. Will the warranty be valid over there also?.

For those who already have a G2SG-A1 how durable this computer looks. I'm asking this because a year ago I bought a macbook it is a reliable and great looking computer but the material used to build the case it is crap. In just one year it is broken and dirty.

The warranty is 2 years and global, so you'll be fine.

The G2 is made of plastic - tough plastic, mind you - but still plastic. The interior off-gray textured plastic and touchpads of the Macbooks is known for getting dirty with use; the Mr. Clean eraser is supposed to work for cleaning it up.

Another question, it is worthy to pay $149 for the 200gb 7200rpm S-ATA 300 intead of the 320gb 5400rpm HDD that comes standar?

You won't notice an appreciable (if any) performance difference between the two, as the 320GB 5400 HDD has such a high areal density that it easily makes up for the lower RPM. SATA-300 has no real world functional advantage over SATA-150 drives, as neither can come near to saturating the transfer bus.

Better to stick with the 320 stock HDD, imo.

I got my computer this weekend, the quality of the plastic seems to be good. My only complain so far is that the booting time for Vista is an eternity compared to the OSX.

I just played WOW and compared to my macbook is like going from driving a Toyota to driving a Lexus.

You can reduce Vista boot time approximately 2 times if you exclude some programs like 'ASUS security manager' from start up list (you do not have to uninstall them, just disable on startup).
The only software I'd removed is Semantec. There are better antivirus programs out there - see stickies

I really didn't have much time to play around with the computer, but I'll be using this threat ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=146088 ) to tweak a bit my computer...

    -=4=- Thanks to Commodore64
