Hey guys,
Now that I've gotten rid of my desktop, I'm using this as my fulltime computer. There are a few things that are bothering me.
First is that every so often, multiple folders will appear on my c:\ drive, with long names of just random characters.
Secondly, I know there is a hidden drive of about 20gigs. Is there anyway I can access this and use that hard drive space on my c or d drive?
Finally I have this NTFS converter lying around on my desktop. Is it worth it to use this to convert from FAT to NTFS?
Thanks.

The random folders on the C drive with long names consisting of numbers and letters are temporary files used by Windows Update or Automatic Updates. The final step of the update process should remove those folders, but occasionally it cannot. It should be safe to delete those if you see them, especially after a reboot.
I don't think you can use the hidden recovery partition unless you delete it and format is as a usable drive.
NTFS has significant advantages over FAT, one of them being less fragmentation of files. However, I don't know if I would bother to convert. Next time you do a format, just use NTFS instead of FAT. -
convert right away
fat does not work with files larger than 4 gb
