Hello I'am new here; i am living in the Netherlands. The dutch computershop Mycom has a notebook on their site called: Asus Z92K; see this link:
    http://www.mycom.nl/MyCom/Store/productdetailedinfo.do?productID=95038&productType=1).

It just costs 999,- EURO. Is this a new asus notebook ? I can't find anything on the web about it. Is it good value for the money or are there better alternatives ? Does Asus has also other typenumbers for this notebook ?

    Thanks for your answers !
    Jeroen

The specs on the store website makes it sound like the A6K.
But from the store's picture it looks more like an A4 series.

I'm guessing the Z92 is the whitebook/OEM version of the A6. There are also some slight differences in appearance between the A3 and the Z91, so it makes sense that they're not 100% identical. Neither the A6K, nor any Z-series appear in Asus Netherlands most recent pricelist , though, so it may be parallel (or gray-market as some call it) import. The price is decent, but not stellar, and the Turion is (at least in the A6K incarnation) still not as good as the P-M. Thus I'd rather consider the Sonoma-model A6Vc (or the A6Va if you need more powerful graphics) which also has Bluetooth. It should be available from €1100 or thereabout.

Nothing inherently wrong about buying stuff outside the 'authorized' distribution channels, but in some cases this may screw with manufacturers’ warranties. Not that this matters in most of Western Europe, since consumer protection laws tend to go by 'the point of purchase principle' transferring the burden of dealing with the manufacturers/distributors to the seller.
