Is there a new driver that will allow the ddr3 256 mb video card to be overclocked?

    anyone know?

or are there new drivers that allow overclocking?

I think the key question is not a driver that allows overclocking but a new driver that doesnt kill the performance.

Last I checked only the stock driver works others will kill performance for still unknown reasons.

That's been my experience, but now I have 169.01 installed from LV2Go. Ok, my GPU temps have dropped immediately to 68 at idle from 77-78 with stock driver. I'm using a belkin cooler (the weird shaped one) at the moment. That seems to tell me that the card is no longer overclocked? If I'm running this driver, do I need to uninstall Turbo Gear Enhanced VGA driver and overclock using Riva Tuner instead to achieve the same performance? What about Turbo Gear? Can someone clear the fog for me?

Last I checked the turbogear vga drivers are overclocking the card even when using the drivers that dont allow overclocking. This is my experience with the 512mb card.

The GDDR3 card tho is having issues when using any drivers other than the stock ones performances goes to 1/2. 4000 3dmark to 2000 3dmark. Even if Turbogear didnt work the clocks would not be going down enough to cut performance in half. I have been trying to track down why this is happening and find a fix.

If its just clock speeds are being reduced for some reson thats not a problem, we can find drivers that allow overclocking, or I will personally just do a bios level overclock on the card to put it where it belongs. However I dont think thats the problem because the stock bios on the card would still be running stock speeds and I think Ken from gentech would have noticed the clock speeds being lower than normal and said something to me.

My guess right now is that there is something very special with the stock drivers that make the card work right that we have to find out how to transplant it into newer drivers. Maybe it can be done with moding the .inf file. Also maybe the 3dclocks are not comming on correctly and its running in 2dmode or something. I will do as much testing as I can when I get my card and see if I can figure it all out.

Yes Viscious, that was my thinking. I just ran supreme commander for a while and the gpu never got above 73. With 163.44 drivers I would get 2200 in 3dmark06 and 3657 with stock drivers, standard mode and settings for 3dmark. Right now I don't have 3dmark but may download to see what happens with these 169.01 drivers out of curiosity. According to Riva Tuner my card is at 450/700, 900 shader.

I tried the new Crysis drivers from the site and it was a mistake. My clocks fell regulary down to 189 and wouldnt go up. Im getting kind of frustrated... I hope asus releases new drivers because this is kinda of crazy.
