with the way it turned out. Saw it Monday afternoon and ordered it and picked it up today.

    I wanted:
    12" without a widescreen and w/o a x-glare screen
    1.8x Centrino
At least 512 to 1 gig Ram
    Touch pad
Quiet fan and a good video screen
    Extra battery

I chose the Z33 because I could get the 768 Ram with a 1.8x centrino, a regular not widescreen that was not x brite and a machine not filled with all the software stuff that Dell and HP send out.

It was built in 2 days and I could not make it yesterday to pick it up even though it was 15 minutes from my house.

I purchased it and bought the extra 3 cell battery so they are light and I have 4 hours on the batteries. On Monday I am taking a 14 hour flight but fortuneately they have plugs at your seat. when the 9 cell come out I will buy one.

It booted up quite fast and I loaded my software and PC-Cillin Internet Security so it still does not have much software....

It runs as fast as my 3.2 1 gig desktop and although much smaller than my Dell 19" LCD, the Asus screen is quite good and very clear.

At $1699 including the extra battery this is a deal compared to the Fujitsu's, Toshibas, Dells and of course the IBM....I would have considered the IBM at more money with the add ons for Ram, Centrino etc but no glidepad made it a pass.

So far this is an excellent buy...no dead pixels, quiet, fast, clear what more could you ask for?

In the U.S. the Z33A only has 3cell or 9cell batteries. From what I've seen the 6cells are only available in Asia. Now you could probably use the 6cell from the older M5n model fine if you wanted to.

I still got my 9cell battery on backorder. Hopefully it wont be too much longer, I already paid for it 2 weeks ago.

I'm still waiting on the 9-cell for my Z33a. Latest estimate is July 20. With the 3-cell I can get over 2 hours of life with wifi off and the screen turned down. Not bad for a little 3-cell.

I know that I'm happy with my Z33a.
