I don't know this FastRestore application but my guess that msconfig is the place to look. Look in the tab "startup" and look if there is anything FastRestore related and then disable it and then manually remove the directories.

Start => Run or Windows key on your keyboard and type msconfig.exe. Then click on the "Startup" tab and look at each of the items listed. If you don't know what the item does, just disable it.

But to be honest if there is something wrong with my system I just reinstall everything I need. We Windows users have been doing this for years, I mean people have accepted the fact that you need to reinstall Windows 3 times per year which is crazy.

I reiterate the suggestion of just doing a Windows recovery and NOT install that FastRecovery software again. Backup your data first! Depending on the options chosen, recovery may be data-destructive for some of the partitions or the entire HDD.

I also want to say that it's not necessary to reinstall Windows 3 times a year. :) My current install is about 2 years old, and my record was 4+ on a desktop. It all depends on how well it's maintained, actually.
