    Greetings ,

Recently my computer started experiencing a lot of nv4_disp.dll errors , which I was unable to fix through any software/convential means. Since I believe the issue is coming from the GPU ( Geforce 9650M GT , 1 GB) overheating , and there are no problems with the cooler , my question is the following :

Can the GPU be replaced with the same model?

My apologies if this question is "noobish" , I am no expert on computers.

    Thank you

Also I forgot to add : The texture error usually happens in games older than 2003 or that were made in 2003. Games from 2004 an onward , the system just shuts down and restarts.

interesting, if you think the graphics card is physically damaged, then you can try replace it. i think the 9650 uses the MXMII slots. Just go on ebay and search MXMII (ATI 3650 or GT 9600 uses MXMII slots, i have a 3650) :D Its actually quite expensive to replace it (around or over 100), might be more economical to just replace the new laptop. Also when you replace that card, you have to play around with the BIOS as well

also, have u tried upgrading the newest drivers?
or try this http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/general-errors/steps-to-resolve-the-nv4_disp-dll-error/ found it from a quick google search
