    What is the quality like of the 1.3 megapixel webcams that come with the asus notebooks? Is it different model by model? I will be skyping a lot and want to know if the quality is good for constant use or if I will need to budget for an additional webcam of better quality. How does it compare to logictech's offerings?

    Could someone take an uncompressed test video so I can see how it looks? I would appreciate it a great deal! Moving around, different lighting, clarity up close and at a distance, etc.

    Its best to see it for yourself. Go to an electronics store which showcases Asus and other brand notebooks.

    The 1.3mp webcam quality is usually good aslong as theres good lighting and a fast connection.

    My sister bought a €30 euro webcam from philips which is also a 1.3megapixel. This one is A LOT better than my integrated asus one. The asus one lags a bit when put on higher resolutions and still looks a bit pixelated.

    I have a 2.0mp one with my c90s and its great. Its quality is probably better than any program like AIM/MSN & Skype even streams. I have not used skype tho so I cant speak on behalf of skype but I know its better than AIM and MSN.

    Its not so much MP count that makes or breaks the camera tho, its focus, and its sensitivity to lighting.

    MP is simply how big the images are.
