    Hi all,

Nephew's laptop has a strange problem; when I boot up, the bios screens and Welcome screen display fine, but the login screen is black. When booted in safe mode, it's fine.

I've tried clearing all malware from it, then turning off everything that starts up at boot. Still no luck. Does anyone know what else would happen at normal bootup that doesn't happen going into safe mode that might cause such a problem?

    P.

EDIT: Actually, it seems to be the fault of installing the latest nVidia graphics drivers for the card (GT 520M). After uninstalling the drivers, I can now see the login screen fine.
