edit: SOLVED
Solution: connected the HDD to my PC and formatted it.
still having problems..
The notebook was installed with a 640GB WD HDD. The new one is a 1000GB Samsung Spinpoint HN-M101MBB-H.
When i turn on the notebook, the only device i can choose from the boot-menu is the DVD-drive.
Any suggestions are welcome![]()

First enter your BIOS (f2 after power on I believe) and see if the drive is recognized
Just a suggestion if that is your real email address, I would ask someone to change your username, one person complained about a lot of spam when they used their's

If you have already tried reseating it, I would return it. -
It is not recognized. At at first bootup the HDD was detected. I tried to install Windows 7, but it failed. Now it can't detect it, but if i switch to my old HDD (which have a lot of bad sector) it will be detected. Just not the new HDD.
