    Hello,
I have an ASUS A6000 notebook.
It has never been able to charge a battery since it was purchased new.
I have taken it back to the dealer and so far we have had 3 new batteries and none of them will charge, the A6000 will run on AC power though.
Note that the battery light on the front on the notebook does not light up.
The notebook has been returned to ASUS for warranty repairs and I received the same notebook back from ASUS and was advised that there is nothing wrong with the notebook however it still does not charge the battery.
Has anyone had a similar problem with this model?
I have tried the recalibrate option in the bios but that does not work as the battery does not charge.
    Can someone help please.
    Thank you.

Sounds like it could be a motherboard or BIOS problem with ACPI interface or something.... RMA the thing again and ask them to try plugging the thing into the wall and charging the battery themselves since that is the problem you're having - they should see the problem immediately if what you're saying is truly happening all the time with multiple batteries.

Was this Asus NA in Fremont?

    Thanks for your reply.
The notebook was purchased in Australia and I presumed that it was returned to ASUS in Sydney New South Wales, I can only hope that they actually tried to charge the battery.
I will approach ASUS directly myself and get them to check the motherboard as you suggested.

I second ClearSkies' suggestion of RMAing and saying that the problem is not the battery (they have changed that) but the motherboard and/or charging circuity and/or the AC adapter.
