My A6J beeps everytime it gets booted.

Precisely when the Asus trade mark is displayed in white background color.

Is there any way to turn it off ?

I've tried going into BIOS and turned on 'Quiet Boot' feature? but no luck...

What's the origin of the Bios? The beeps are a code, each bios manu has it's own list of codes. If you can trace the reason ot's beeping, maybe you can solve it.

I suppose it's not a beep, but rather an irritating sound? If so, when you see that screen with the ASUS logo, press F2. When you're in the bios, go to the tab Advanced. On that page, go to Play POST Sound and turn it to "No".

    Good luck!

Yeah , this "irritating sound" drives me crazy also! So far I couldn't find the way to disable it. A have BIOS v.206
    Advanced settings tab have this:
    -IDE Configuration
    -Start Easy Flash
    -Internal pointing Device [Enabled]
    -Internal Numeric Pad Lock [Enabled]

Also there is Boot Settings configuration Tab with only 2 settings:
    - Quick boot [Enabled]
    - Quiet boot [Enabled]

So, does anybody know how to disable this "irritating sound" at start-up ?
Should I flash BIOS? there is BIOS Ver.214 at asus website.

    Thanks!

I can not see what BIOS version I have got at the moment. But since you haven't got the POST sound feature, I'd give it a try, since you really have got a reason to get some more features...

    Cheers!

    Ok, I updated BIOS v.206 -> v.214
Now there is "Play POST Sound" in Advanced tab. So I disabled it - and there is no more this "irritating sound" on start up!
    Thanks Joost!

    Thanks Joost and Niemitz.

I got rid of it by doing the same thing with Niemitz.

And yep, it wasn't a beep... just that sound...
