I was looking around some other forum, and a user mentioned he/she had an A6Jm, so I looked around and found a couple of ASUS Europe sites that had it:
    http://www.asus.de/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1129&l1=5&l2=24&l3=0

It sure looks like an A8Jm except with 15.4" screen, and looks like it had the option of WSXGA+.

Just wondering if that will ever come to North America :)

Ooooh, looks nice. I wonder why the 15" has an 8-cell battery while the 15.4" only gets a 4-cell though...

Typo on the page, there should be an "8" in front of "cells,71Whr; 4 Cell, 31.5Whr". I don't think Asus NA ever brings over the larger notebooks with the smaller 4-cells that are available.

I'm not seeing a resemblance between the A6 and A8. The A6 is a much older chassis, goes back to the first Centrino (Carmel) platform.

The A6Ja with the X1600 is available in Canada. Maybe Asus will bring in a 15.4" with Nvidia graphics if there's demand for it.

Sorry, I meant featurewise... ie the DVI and Go7600 ...

The A6Ja isn't available in NA, only the A6Jc with Go7300 TC is if I'm not mistaken..

The Source By Circuit City (formerly Radioshack Canada) would disagree!

Yeah, the newer A6 models are some of the few Asus' that have DVI.

That's the a6ja, this thread was about the a6jm. The a6ja is the 15.4" version of the a8ja, it has the x1600. It's essentially a s96j. Now c'mon guys, with asus's simple naming system there's really no excuse for all this confusion

Ummm what confusion? I merely listed the A6Ja since unless you use Linux (or are a Nvidia fanboy) you wouldn't really care if it was a 7600 or X1600.

I believe the A6Ja is exclusive to The Source in Canada, since I don't think any of the Canadian resellers sells the thing. I believe it's been selling for a while, before the S96J was even out. Price is prohibitive, especially now. A similarly configured S96J is less than $1500 CDN at MilestonePC, only spec differences being the lack of DVI and a larger standard 8-cell battery.

If you're really itching for an Nvidia GPU, no idea if the A6Jm is gonna come to N.A., but browsing through MilestonePC's website I came across their pre-order for the 15.4" F3Jm with the 512MB go 7600.

My criticism was sarcastic, Asus is worse than mercedes with names. though there is a difference, just like there's a difference between the w3j and a8jm. I wonder why asus doesn't stick to one graphics manufacturer?

As lazybum131 mentioned above, the F3J series is more like the 15.4" version of the 14" A8jm.

F3J is an ASUS ensemble unit with a lot of features that many are looking for.
    15.4" WXGA Glossy screen.
Nvidia Go 7600, good for linux users.
    Internal Bluetooth
A DVI port for LCDs and other screen.

The looks are roughly the same aswell.

LOL - I was trying to show my husband the computer I was considering yesterday and I missed a letter and showed him something completely different. But there's only one that's a standard screen right? Or am I totally off?
