here's the thing...I enable the wireless (either using the keyboard shortcut or the on screen display) and the light doesn't show up.

Yes, the wireless works...but the light! (I told you I was being pedantic).

My laptop doesn't have bluetooth, but has a bluetooth & wireless option...the wireless LED lights up....

any ideas how to fix it?

P.S. illuminates when I do bluetooth only as well.

a search didn't turn up much, maybe I used the wrong terms *shrugs*

this is to date the first problem I've ever had with an asus...if you could call it that.

You have to install the application called "Wireless Console 2" from the asus download site for your notebook.

I have the same issue with my A8JP. Its so dumb that you need to have an application running just to have the LEDs on. I don't know why thats the case, these Asus notebooks are the only ones I have seen that seem to require specific software for each and every button and LED on them.

Thats strange, I had the same issue then installed the Wireless Console 2 app and the LEDs magically started working. Are you using the Intel ProSet utility? That may get them to work as well.

We do have different notebooks, so my solutions won't necessarily work for you.
