Ok well I'm on a budget here, and am selling my z92U cos its got onbaord graphics SISm760GX, I'm worried that it wont work too well with Vista... now I've downloaded that little program that lets you know what you need to do to make you PC vista capaible and it says its ok, but obviously wont be able to run in aero glass as the SIS m760GX is only DirectX 8.1 compliant. and has DX9 software support.
Being on a budget I'm thinking of getting a A6Km (at a very good price through work)
now the A6km has a nvida Go7300, I know its not great, but do you think this would be able to run under vista better? Or am I just upgrading for no real benifit?
oh, I cant get a notebook with a decent GFx as they are a little out of my budget and refuse to get a Acer! So ASUS only for me.
Only point to make is that the A6Km has a Turion MT32 (512k cache) and my current one has 1mb of cache) Do you think the extra 200Mhz will balance out the difference in cache?
Any thoughts?
the specs will be:
AMD Turion MT32
1GB DDR333
80GB 7200rpm HDD
nVidia Go7300

OK i have ven run the vista beta myself. And ive been reading up on it. The MS advisor isnt even accurate. Vista runs with full arero with even the intel graphics chipset just fine. a 7300 would run it great. and it will even run on a 1ghz machine with 1 gig of ram just fine. I have seen this big commotion through all the OS releases they all say they need this and that or they wont run. and let me tell you XP runs fine even on a pentium 266mhz with 512 ram. Sure its alittle slow but it runs it. Your setup will be more than enough.

i have got the a6km, its a good machine although it doesn't have bluetooth capabilites.
i have also ran the vista upgrade advisor report on my laptop and the laptop should be able run Vista ultimate edition... -
the one I'm gettin has got bluetooth
so yeah..
thanks for the info regarding vista!
@SRD, I've got a SISm760GX though. not the intel 915IGP. my current one is direct x 8.1 only. and I've read that some users have had blue screens when trying to run Vista with it on the latest drivers....
cheers
