I see that in a shop here in barcelona:
Asus A6T: Turion X2 TL-50, 1GB ddr2 533mhz, 15'4", GO7600 256mb, 100GB HDD 5400rpm for 1200
Will be a huge difference between this and the Asus A6J: Core duo 1'66 Ghz, 1GB ddr2 667mhz, X1600 256mb for 1216
Thanks!

There will be a slight performace drop in the A6T because the X2 has been shown to not be as good as the core duo BUT i doubt you will notice it. Its only noticeable if you tax the system 100% of the time and no-one does that unless benchmarking.
The A6T is more futureproof as it has 64bit support. -
But for gamming and office the Turion X2 is worse that the Core duo? I think that they are working with the same speed processor. I haven't seen any direct comparison between the Turion X2 and Core duo with the same configurations

You are right - i havent seen direct comparisons either. The best i found is this, which concludes the X2 is slower but just by a bit but it is cheaper than the core duo.
Like I said the difference would be small and hardly noticeable. Remember that laptop performace depends on RAM (size/speed) GPU and HD aswell. The procesor will not be the bottleneck in most systems so this really is nitpicking. I like the A6T - AMD + Nvidia - wont see that for long.
edit: just found this comparison, the A7Tc (X2 2.0GHz) got 4102 PC Marks whereas the Acer 8204 (T2500) got 4236.
A6T and A6J
