I am a student in the UK and I'm having trouble deciding on which Asus laptop to get (getting an Asus is a good choice right?). I have only managed to find one site ( http://www.asuslaptop.co.uk/) which sold an Asus containing the specs I needed (x700 graphics card because I do play games quite often).

I am having problems deciding between the:

    A6Va-Q004H ( http://www.asuslaptop.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=Asus_Laptop_A6Va-Q004H)
    # Intel® Pentium® M processor 740 1.73GHz
    # HD 80 GB
    # 15.4" (WXGA) Glare type
    # 128Mb ATI Mobility™ Radeon™ X700
    # DVD-RW Dual
    # 512Mb DDR2 533MHz (512x1)
    # 4x USB 2.0, 1xIEEE 1394
    # Video Camera built-in (1.3 million pixels)
    # Bluetooth
    # Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
    Price: £965.85 Inc. VAT
    + 512MB DDR2 Crucial RAM
    Price: £51.69 inc. VAT

    Total price: £1017.54 inc. VAT

    and the:

    A6Va-Q043H ( http://asuslaptop.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=Asus_Laptop_A6Va-Q043H)
    # Intel® Pentium® M processor 750 1.86GHz
    # HD 100 GB
    # 15.4" (WXGA) Colour Shine
    # 128Mb ATI Mobility™ Radeon™ X700
    # DVD-RW Dual
    # 1024Mb DDR2 533MHz (512x2)
    # 4x USB 2.0, 1xIEEE 1394
    # Video Camera built-in (1.3 million pixels)
    # Bluetooth
    # Microsoft® Windows® XP Home

    Total price: £1149.15 Inc. VAT

I'm thinking whether the extra 130Mhz pentium m (I don't really care about HD, as I have a mobile external one containing all my files) is actually worth the extra £132 for a 'quite often' gamer like me.

I have read that apparently the M6V and the Z71V are better than the A6V, however I cannot find a UK site which sells those models.

Any helpful (not spam and flames) reply is much appreciated.

You honestly will not see much of a difference in terms of processor speeds based on basic tasks and even gaming. Benchmarking only then will you see a difference.

But if you can afford it. of course go for it :)

Does anyone know of a UK (online) retailer that sells the M6V or Z71V? I cannot find any reviews on the A6V, and the reviews I've read about the M6V and Z71V all suggest they are top notch machines.

AJP and Evesham both sell the Z71v (although under slightly different titles)
