    Hi

I am deciding whether to buy the A6j (T2400 core duo) or the A6k (mt-34 turion) CPU. Both come with the X1600.
I will be using the notebook for my Engineering project – mostly programming and simulation programs will be used.

Which do you think will be better for these tasks?

    Thanks

I'd probably go with the A6j... the core duo will help out with multitasking and CPU-heavy tasks.

The North American version will have the 7300 Go, so I'm assuming the one he has is an Eurasian version?

I have just recently got into laptops. All this stuff about US versions and Europe versions and stuff is totally confusing me. I read about laptops then find I cant get it here in the US or its different?!?!?! Now every time I read about a laptop I have to spend 20 minutes trying to find out if I can get it here in the US. Can laptops be imported? Is there any easy to quickely tell if I can get it here in the US?

The best way is to look at their sites, which should often tell you the specs.

Imported is possible but usually expensive, customs will also ding you hard.

That really depends, best to ask them.

I've been hit pretty randomly here, sometimes 10%, once almost 50%. It's crazy...

If you can wait long enough, you might as well purchase the Z96... pretty much just as good as the A6J

Well its a 128 I think the 256 x1600 in the W3J would be better. But you could probbly put a 2.0 duo in the build on Z one.

Well, the 256 on the W3j is not confirmed to be all video memory, it could be 128mb video memory, 128mb Hypermemory

Do shops say they import on there webpages? I have been looking for somewhere where they will import an A6J just so I can price it and think about it but I can find any that say they will and tell you the customs fees and stuff.

You can't find out the customs fees until it hits the border/coast. They won't know, only customs officials will.
