I am thinking of buying the A7S-A1 from newegg. What is the Interface for the hard drive is it SATA1 or SATA2. I am going to buy a 7200RPM Drive with it. Also where can i purchase addition accidental protection plan, other than the one that comes with the A7S.

    Thanks for the help.

Nearly all SATA drives in production these days are SATA2/3GB per sec drives. In the end it doesn't make a difference performance-wise, since the max transfer speed is less than 10% of the theoretical even at SATA1 speeds.

You can't get more accidental protection from Asus - there is an insurance company out there that offers separate product for that, but I'm blanking on where I saw it; perhaps someone else here will remember.

Quite right - your initial question looked like you were asking about SATA1 vs 2 :).
