    A7T Trouble installing XP 32

    Well i get all the way through....until its time to actually install everything on the HD....it starts to click loud and the install will say 39 mins left...ill leave for 15 mins...and it will stay the same...so i tkae the disc out...get an error and when the computer restarts the process repeats itself all over again.

    Are you booting from the CD and installing that way? More details would help to diagnose.

    yea i basically format the partition (But keep my other partition that is like 1 gb for the asus recovery)...go through the first process then when it restarts to install to the hd, i get the error and my dvd drive gets loud and clicking alot...but the dvd drive is perfectly fine...

    Hmm hdd fail?

    Download hirenboot cd 9.1 .. burn the iso .. boot the cd and run the diagnose test for ur specific manufacture's hdd.

    Yes, I agree that you should FIRST check your HDD and see if it's not about to fail. And backup any data that you might have on the HDD.

    Does it work from the HDD recovery (F9 during boot)?

    It might also be that there's something bad in the partition table/MBR. You can try removing the partition completely and remaking it, see if that helps. Or even remove all the partitions incl. recovery.
