    Since Asus introduced the V2 I was wondering if they were planning on introducing a new 14" 'budget' alternative? The V2 is slightly greater than I would care to spend on a notebook. I was slightly unimpressed in the looks dept as well (the W3J was quite sexy, how could it compete). Maybe I should just look forward to the upcoming 14" widescreen ThinkPads.

    Well, the A8 is the budget series, it comes in various different flavours, the A8jp, A8jr, A8js, A8j....something or another. They come in various specs, some with DVI, some without, some with x1700/7700, others with x1450/6150, etc.
