I've had my A8Js for over 3 years now and it's been working well for me. The only things that bug me about it are the screen brightness and mediocre battery life. Battery, I'll live with since I'm mostly tethered to the wall at home or at work anyways.

The screen, I'd like to try to upgrade. My current screen is the old CCFL back light. Love the 14.1" 1440 x 900 resolution.

Looking at ScreenTek and Screen Country, I found a number of 14.1" 1440 x 900 LED back lit screens. Has anyone here tried such an LCD swap? Is it as simple as swapping it and just plugging in the ribbon cable?

Here are some listed ones when I searched 14.1 wxga+:

    ScreenTek
    Lenovo 42T0504
    HP 483262-001
    Acer TM 6493 Series
    AUO B141PW04 V.0
    Lenovo T400

There are many listed on both sites. Can anyone help with this?
