I was just wondering if both laptops use the same screens, because in pictures the A8 seems to be more glossy/reflective then the W3J. And just out of curiosity sake, who makes the screens for both laptop(or asus in general)?

Asus (as well as other companies) use a number of manufacturers for their LCD.. such as Auo, Samsung, etc. I believe MilestonePC stated that he believes both use the same screen.

Hmm, unless the W3J's screen is partially masked I can't see that. The W3J runs at 1280x768 versus the A8Jm's 1280x800.

the w3j is 14" the a8jm is 14.1" they are even different sized.

Now its more than possible that they are the same manufacturer and identical apart from size. But I havent seen the manufacturer of the w3js screen yet maybe a forumer could help us with that.

If they are using the same panels in the W3Js as they did for the W3's and the Z63's then I will tell you that the W3J has an awesome screen.

Thing is the A8J has a really great screen as well. I was surprised they put such a great screen into such a budget laptop.

    Way to go Asus~!!!

You'll be happy with either of them. The A8J's screen is comparable to the LG T1, which is a superior machine, because it out classes it.

What I mean by this is that it is in another price bracket. :)

We have them in our store and I compared them side by side.

Thumbs up for the Asus A8J screen.

Cool, I'm just trying to justify this purchase of an asus over an macbookpro. The macbook screens are like incredible. But since I haven't seen a W3J and A8Jm, it's really hard for me to jump unto the purchase of such an expensive piece of equipment. Btw, I didn't notice the difference in screen size between the w3j and a8jm. :)
