A8 series | Vista upgrade programm finished but still no preinstalled Vista?

Hello world.

I've been waiting two months with the purchase of an A8J-series laptop, as I expected Asus to uncover some new models or upgrades on CeBIT. I was sure they would introduce the slideshow display and hybrid HDDs, but only one laptop was presented, that comes with the slideshow display.

Now I wanted to order an A8Js and hat to find out, that the Vista upgrade programm has finished on March, 15th and they still don't deliver Vista preinstalled. Actually the A8Js is also sold out in Germany and won't be available for 10 days or so.

Does anyone know, when we can expect Vista to come preinstalled on the A8J-series?

A8jr has vista preinstalled. Has a crappy X2300 though.

 

I have read other threads about versions of the A8Js that have Vista Home Premium installed. I'll see if I can find the exact model number and post it here.

 

According to post #832 in the A8Js Owner's Lounge, the 4S024C has Vista Home Premium.

... We've had the A8js w/ Vista Home Premium... it was out of stock for a while right after the first shipment arrived, but it's certainly been in for the last 3-4 weeks or so...
