    Hi I just got this laptop was popping out the keys to clean them ( due to stickers where put on them so I was cleaning the glue remaining ) so i ended up braking the bracket that broke the "Pgup" key. I ordered an new keyboard from asus..so my question is does anyone have any idea how to remove the keyboard from this model. thanks in advance

    Probably like any other model... there are many disassembly manuals on the Info Booth, you can use them as a guideline.

    OK, I'm in a generous mood this morning.

    Step 0a: Shut down your A8, remove battery and then remove screws from bottom casing marked 'K'.

    1. Pop the clips along the top of the keyboard with paper clip/credit card to release keyboard. Should be 3 of them, which you can see if you tilt the notebook backward.

    2. Pull out keyboard.

    3. Pull cable from it's attachment slot, carefully. Note which side is which for replacement in next step.

    4. Do steps above in reverse. All done :).

    Isn't there like a screws holding the keyboard down; one above the CPU cover? It's on my F8, and as far as I've seen, the bottom casing is almost identical.

    dang it, you're right; I forgot that teeny important step; been too long since I pulled mine off I guess :eek:.

    thanks for all your help, I finally got the Thai keyboard removed and installed the US version (hell of alot less symbols on the US kb)
