Just like Justin said, you guys might not see A8Jm in US market, it is pretty much a Canadian model, we also have A8F here, which is about $300 cheaper than A8Jm, it looks the same with A8Jm, but has no DVI and has a on board shared video, but one thing is disgusting, it has a 80G 4200rpm HD on A8F, other specs are: 512M x2, DVDRW, XPH, T2400...

I BELIEVE W3J should be here in a week or so.

Hmmmm, I guess its somewhat of an option if you don't want dedicated memory...

And has the A8jm 'arrived' yet? Like...in your hands...?

ah so the A8F is going to come in as an ensemble then.
hmm, I think it'd be tough to have one consider the A8F over the Z62F. The latter is such a steal :O

I may be hopping by tomorow, so prepare a red carpet(LOL!). But honestly speaking, will there be any other new display models for me to play around(*cough* LG *cough*)

Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight....get down tonight *machine bells going off in the background*

I have no idea why that was the first thing to come to mind. Too bad about the a8j in the states. Oh well, that made the decision I already made that much easier *shrugs.*

I got to ask - what makes you think that? Just a hunch or has someone communicated with you from Asus?

You wouldn't want to toy with our emotions would you?

I said I believe because I don't want to be too positive to make you guys dispointed if they don't show up. I actually talkd to Asus ensemble PM this afternoon, eastern time, he said W3J should be on the airplane/airport already, but he couldn't be positive because Taiwan is mid-night at that time.

From Z70Va to A8Jm, the ETAs I gave were almost all acurate, right? If you have been in the forum for a while, you should know that, hopfully I am right again this time :)

Um, did you just reply to your own post?

Anyways, I'll believe it when I see it . . . meaning the darn thing is actually in my hands. I'm done believing anything I hear about the W3J arrival date.

But since I can't resist, if MilestonePC talks to the ensemble PM again, it'd be great to hear if the specs can be confirmed finally.

The specs have been "confirmed" for as long as they've been ordered.... The change to 2 x 512mb was a change, but from that point on, they were confirmed. Until the units get here, I certainly won't report another Asus confirmation unless they tell us there's been a change in a bad way...... as I've already told them our entire order will be cancelled if the units don't come as spec'd.

.... so at this point, don't expect anyone, including me to give you any further confirmation until the units are in hand..... whether they are the same or better....... if something is worse than expected, I'll let you know because I'll be cancelling orders if that's the case..... but I'm sure you can understand why there will not and should not be an update from this point on... until they arrive.

We hear you...just anxiously awaiting news. Interesting to hear they may be shipped air freight...at least should speed that part of things along. I wish I knew a trick to get them through customs quickly...

If you think about it, a few days to ship (maybe up to a week if by sea?) and a week in customs put it at about June 1st to arrive in Fremont give or take a few days.

We should be on schedule for the latest ETA if they're en route and my estimations are correct. That's looking at the bright side of things.
