Anyone ever seen wireless slow down considerably when using battery power settings? As soon as I switch to full power it goes fast again.

Yes, this may be a setting within your A8. Check power settings & network connections (properties) and then find the tab with power TX management. At least this works for my 3945ABG (What is yours?).

Modify your Power4Gear settings, if you're using it.

Mine was set to run CPU at 37% on battery power. It took the desktop nearly 3 minutes to load. I'm not sure that's worthwhile powersaving if it takes you three times longer to do something at 1/3 the power.

If you go into power option in control panel, choose your battery profile then change the plan setting, then click advanced power settings, and go to wireless then just boost the power for the wireless while on battery. :)
