    Dear Forum:

My new A8Js DVD drive seems to be very loud all of a sudden.
Does anyone know if this is normal for this machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    BeyerCorpuz

yes slim optical drives can and should make audible noise especially during spin up. Is this like the 1000 time someone posted something like this here in the last year?

I'm not sure what you mean by very loud. My drive on my A8Js is kinda loud compared to the other system fans, and it makes a small whining noise after a CD reads inside.

If I have a CD inside on startup it's very noticeable that its been turned on vs. not noticeable if the drive is empty and doesn't try to read.
