Does anyone know if the A8JM uses a SATA or a PATA hard drive?

PATA? Is that newer than Serial ATA (SATA)? What's the difference. I'm especially interested in this because the A8Jm is shipping to me right now, and now there's a chance it has this whole new hard drive. OOO!! :D

I think PATA also, The PATA and SATA has different connection. SATA techically faster then PATA.

Good. I'm toying with getting one, and want to use my 7200rpm drive. Looks like it will work. :)

Right, A8JM has a PATA Fujitsu 100GB 5400rpm HD. Yeah, you can upgrade your own 7200rpm to this, it works perfectly.

PATA is older than SATA, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with PATA.

Also the performance difference can and may be negilible, when going from PATA to SATA...however you cannot change your PATA HD in your laptop to a SATA one.

So if you want faster performance, then just get a 7200 rpm HD, possibly a Perpendicular one if you want the latest technology, and a big HD.

    Thanks,
