    Hey All,

Long time lurker, first time poster =P

I recently purchased an A8JM, and I can't be more pleased with the machine. I wanted to try out the 7600 so I installed World of Warcraft, and started playing. It worked great, until I started getting artifacts. Eventually, it got to the point where the artifacts totally locked my screen up, forcing me to reboot.

Not sure what to do, I hope I didn't get a faulty card. I read an old thread that described a similar problem, and flashing it to 208 fixed it for them (my laptop is currently running bios 209). I'm not sure if that'll work, but I would like to try, but the Asus site does not list the older bios, anyone know where I could download the older bios?

    Thanks for the help! :)

also make sure that you have the latest gpu drivers installed.
    do other games lock up?
maybe you could try running 3dmark on loop to see if its a general 3D issue or a specific game issue.

    Thanks for the link Darrick.

I've had the same issue with the latest ASUS nVidia Drivers and the newest 91.48 drivers as well.

I'm installing 3DMark06 to try it out, I'll let you know.

    Thanks!

Have you overclocked? I got mine to a point of instability but it was fine when I backed it down a bit.

Something else that helped was elevating the back of the laptop. I'm currently using an eyeglass case, it works great for helping airflow. Also great are two stacks of post-its on the rear right and rear left of the laptop.
